Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon and Team USA Olympic Luge Medalists Chris Mazdzer and Erin Hamlin were at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan for a victory tour on Thursday, celebrating their successes with the Great Lakes Bay Region in a community-wide event, as part of MATRIX:Midland.
Highlighting the event was the unveiling of the No. 3 ‘Dow Salutes Veterans’ Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which will be driven by Dillon during the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway on June 10.
The paint scheme features the names of more than 1,300 employees and contractors from Dow, the USA luge team and Richard Childress Racing who are also veterans, as well as immediate family members of employees and contractors who have served or are currently serving.
"We’re so proud of this opportunity to thanks these veterans for their service, bravery, and selflessness. Seeing their names on the No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet is a reminder of how important veterans are to Dow and our community," said Jim Fitterling, chief executive officer-elect of Dow.
Dow and RCR began collaborating four years ago in appreciation of the service of veterans serving the United States Armed Forces and the skillsets, knowledge, and attributes they add to the workforce. The initiative is coordinated in partnership with Dow’s Veterans employee resource group, VetNet.
