500th Cup start for Martin Truex, Jr. at Michigan; special scheme and fire suit for the weekend

  • 500TH START: This Sunday marks Truex’s 500th career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start. Through 499 races, he has amassed 23 victories, 96 top-five finishes, 195 top-10s and 19 pole awards. The milestone makes Truex only the 42nd driver in NASCAR Cup Series history to reach the 500-starts mark.
  • SPECIAL SCHEME AND FIRE SUIT: Truex’s No. 19 Auto-Owners Insurance Camry will feature a black and blue design to commemorate his 500thcareer start. He will be dressed to impress as he trades in his regular navy Auto-Owners fire suit for a black tuxedo fire suit complete with a blue bowtie. The tuxedo fire suit idea is a throwback to Truex’s 2016 Southern 500 victory – his first in an Auto-Owners car – where his fire suit resembled a navy business suit for throwback weekend at Darlington Raceway.
  • AUTO-OWNERS: Auto-Owners Insurance will be featured as the primary sponsor of Truex’s No. 19 Camry this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. The Lansing, Michigan-based company offers multiple lines of insurance, including life, home, auto and business to customers in 26 states. In addition to supporting Truex on the track, the company has also become a key partner supporting the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation through multiple initiatives such as "Ride With Martin", a fundraising program started by Auto-Owners that allows company associates to have their names placed on the hood of Truex’s race car in exchange for a donation to the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation.
  • BOBBLEHEAD FUNDRAISER: Earlier this week, Auto-Owners and The Martin Truex Jr. Foundation announced a bobblehead program in which the Foundation will sell a bobblehead featuring Truex in his 500th start fire suit to raise money for the Foundation’s childhood and ovarian cancer initiatives. 500 limited-edition bobbleheads are available for purchase at www.ShopMTJF.org.
