NASCAR reinstated Gander Outdoors Truck Series driver Tyler Dippel after an indefinite suspension on Aug. 23.
Dippel was originally suspended for violating the Member Conduct Guidelines, specifically Section 12.1 of the NASCAR Rule Book, a behavioral penalty for “actions detrimental to stock car racing.”

UPDATE: Fox Sports Alan Cavanna reports that Dippel was charged with possession of a controlled substance in New York last week.
UPDATE: New York State Police charged Truck Series driver Tyler Dippel with “criminal possession of a controlled substance – 7th degree” on August 18 in the town of Wallkill, NY.
That is a Class A misdemeanor.

ORIGINAL POST: Tyler Dippel has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR, Motorsport.com reports.
Dippel, driver of the #02 Chevrolet for Young’s Motorsports, was entered in Sunday’s Gander Outdoors Truck Series race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. Following the last race at Bristol Motor Speedway, he was ranked 13th in driver points with three top-10s and a lone top-five finish.
