Henderson Motorsports looking to field developmental drivers in additional races in 2020

Abingdon, V.A. (Dec. 18, 2019) – After a stellar performance to cap the 2019 racing season, Henderson Motorsports will be looking to add additional races to their 2020 schedule.

The famed Food Country Racing Team best known for their extensive history in NASCAR, will be looking to field additional drivers in the series as part of their new driver development program.

The team will be looking to expand their schedule to open opportunities for up-and-coming drivers, while utilizing their current relationship with NASCAR CUP Series driver and NBCSN analyst, Parker Kligerman.

Team owner Don Henderson spoke briefly on the decision to expand the program earlier stating that "My intentions with Henderson Motorsports were to build a successful platform for any aspiring driver. Using the same principles as we use with Food Country USA, we focus on the quality of our brand before we offer it to our consumer." He then added, "We want to know that as a team, we can compete week-in and week-out. I feel as if we have a solid foundation to now do that."

The team regained NASCAR success when it paired veteran race-winning crew chief Chris Carrier with current Henderson Motorsports driver Parker Kligerman.

That partnership proved to be successful as the duo went on to win the "Fred’s 250", at Talladega Super-Speedway. Since the pairing, the team acquired a technical alliance with GMS Racing and continues to make large strides within the industry.
