NASCAR stated at the end of last season that work was needed on the short track package to make it more competitive.
NASCAR and the team owners (through the Charter agreement) had previously agreed to not make changes to the aero package for 2020 to cut down on expenses prior to the introduction of the Next Gen car in 2021.
Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern now reports that changes will be announced soon.
'@NASCAR is expected to unveil a new short-track aero package for the 2020 Cup Series season in the coming weeks, per sources, with the main changes being to the spoiler and splitter areas of the car.
