Kyle Larson moved closer to his first Chili Bowl Nationals crown by winning his preliminary feature Tuesday night. The win advances him to Saturday night’s main event at the River Spirit Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Jonathan Beason finished second to also advance to the Chili Bowl Nationals main event.

AND: Larson emerged victorious in his 30-lap preliminary feature, doing so for the sixth time in his career, but first since switching from Keith Kunz Motorsports to his own program over the winter. He finished 2.822 seconds ahead of Jonathan Beason, the duo punching their tickets into Saturday night’s main event and the pole shuffle that precedes it.
Larson’s victory came hours after Bell won the Vacuworx Invitational Race of Champions in dominating fashion — driving away to a four second lead over Rico Abreu. Bell started seventh and methodically worked his way to the lead while Larson finished fourth after starting eighth.
Bell’s first VIROC victory came in his seventh appearance in the race, which is invitational in nature and open to previous Chili Bowl winners, winning owners and champion drivers across various dirt disciplines. His previous best finishes were third-places in both 2014 and 2019.
