The National Motorsports Press Association annual banquet was held Saturday night at Hendrick Motorsports.
Inducted into the NMPA Hall of Fame were: John Force, Janet Guthrie, Kirk Shelmerdine and Tony Stewart.
Additional special awards were presented to:
- Leonard Wood – The inaugural Wood Brothers Award of Excellence (recognizes a crew member, crew chief or engine builder.)
- NASCAR’s Mike Forde – Ken Patterson Helping Others Award (recognizes a public relations representative in the motorsports industry)
- Corey LaJoie – NMPA Pocono Spirit Award (recognizes charitable efforts)
- Martin Truex, Jr – Richard Petty Driver of the Year
