NASCAR postpones races at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway

UPDATE 3: “NASCAR has decided to postpone the race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend & Homestead-Miami Speedway next weekend. We believe this decision is in the best interest of the safety & well-being of our fans, competitors, officials and everyone associated with our sport.”

Note: No dates have been announced for rescheduled races. Those dates will depend on a wide variety of factors including how long NASCAR is unable to run races.

UPDATE 2: Sounds like NASCAR has decided to cancel all on track activity for this weekend.  Again, everything is subject to change until an official announcement is made.

UPDATE: Rumors now swirling that the Truck race has been canceled.  No additional word on XFINITY or Cup yet.

ORIGINAL POST: While the situation is still fluid and final decisions have not been made, NASCAR is expected to dramatically change the weekend schedule at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

As of 10:45am/et, the expectation is that the Truck Series will qualify at 4:00pm/et today and race tonight (Friday evening) at 7:00pm/et. There will be no practices.

The Cup garage will be closed on Friday.

XFINITY will qualify at 12:00pm/et Saturday and race at 7:00pm/et, without practice sessions.

The NASCAR Cup series will now qualify at 11:00am/et on Saturday and race Saturday afternoon at 2:00pm/et, again with no practices.
