The first race for The Replacements iRacing Series at Kansas Speedway was dominated by one of iRacing’s first stars, Josh Berry.
The JR Motorsports Late Model driver qualified on the pole in his virtual No. 73 iRacing/allthings automotive Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 and never looked back. Berry was challenged on restarts by Josh Williams, the winner of The Replacements 100 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and Richard Petty Motorsports’ Bubba Wallace.
Berry’s most serious competition came on the final restart. Williams dove below the veteran on the backstretch. Berry pinched the No. 12 NewCollegeInstitute.org Ford Mustang in the corner, breaking Williams’ momentum. The JRM driver sped away and slowly increased his lead. By the time the checkered flag waved, Berry was over one second ahead.
The Replacements iRacing Series will be back in action on April 7 using the Street Stock instead of the NASCAR Cup Series Gen 6 machines.
