Although Ricky Craven had experienced devastating crashes at Talladega and Texas, he never felt comfortable expressing his opinions about the sport’s safety.
He didn’t want anyone questioning his desire … his bravery … his competitiveness … behind the wheel of a race car. That’s because, once upon a time, there were elements within the NASCAR garage that considered those who appeared to be overly concerned with safety to be soft.
Take a hit. Walk away. Take some aspirin. And everything will be fine. Until it’s not. This is Ricky Craven’s story.
