GMS Racing unveiled its No. 24 Chevrolet Silverado paint scheme for this weekend’s event at Darlington Raceway – a throwback design in memory of driver Ricky Hendrick.
The Silverado, which will be driven by veteran Greg Biffle, is reminiscent of the No. 17 truck Hendrick drove in 2001 when he led 32 laps and went to victory lane in the series’ inaugural Kansas Speedway race.
At the time, Hendrick, 21, was the youngest winner in the history of the truck series. With 19 top-10 finishes in 24 races, he went on to finish sixth in points that season before moving into the NASCAR Xfinity Series full time in 2002.
This is special. Thank you to our friends at GMS Racing for remembering and honoring Ricky. #always https://t.co/0HA59pevdS
