Germain Racing considering sale? UPDATE

UPDATE: Germain Racing has confirmed that GEICO will not return to the team in 2021.

ORIGINAL POST 9-1-2020: In response to rumors that began Monday on the future of Germain Racing, the team has issued the following statement:

“At this time, anything is on the table. Germain Racing does not have a signed sponsorship contract for 2021 and Bob Germain is exploring conversations for a potential sale.”

Ty Dillon and GEICO signed a multi-year extension with the team in 2017.  GEICO’s contact is up at the end of this season and has not been renewed yet.

This year, GEICO joined Busch Beer, Coca-Cola and XFINITY as premier sponsors of the NASCAR Cup Series. GEICO is currently the Official Insurance Provider of NASCAR.
