Mike Harmon Racing is welcoming two new partners, along with a tribute to Bobby Allison’s 1981 Tuf-Lon paint scheme. Two veteran-focused organizations, Providing Hope VA, and SAVE 22 Veterans will be sponsoring Bayley Currey’s No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro for the Darlington Throwback Weekend. Providing Hope VA is a Loris, SC based non-profit that focuses on homeless and struggling veterans. Though based in SC, our reach is nationwide through our website www.providinghopeva.com. We provide emergency relief for veterans facing eviction, foreclosure, and utility shutoff. We also offer Vacations for Heroes for active duty servicemembers and Honor the Fallen Plaques for the families of heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Our goal is brick and mortar PHVA facilities across the nation to help with veteran support and transition into the freedoms they fought so selflessly to preserve.
“We are excited to partner with MHR and Bayley Currey for the Darlington Throwback weekend with Bobby Allison’s paint scheme! Our fundraising began at raceways with Providing Hope VA shirts to gather funds to support veterans. To have our start at races culminate into being able to partner with MHR and sponsor such a great team and driver is such an honor. We were introduced to MHR and their dedication to supporting our country’s heroes through SAVE22.VET and we are looking forward to the opportunities to come!”
SAVE22 Veterans, a non-profit organization raising awareness for veteran suicide is proud to continue its four-year partnership with Mike Harmon Racing of the NASCAR Xfinity Series. During the four-year partnership, the MHR Team has provided SAVE22 the opportunity to take veterans to tracks across the country including Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C. as a part of SAVE22’s Motorsports Therapy Program, one of many programs offered by the organization. Allowing access for veterans to behind-the-scenes events, pits, driver meetings and one on one interactions with drivers has provided a great outlet for struggling veterans.
SAVE22 is looking forward to continuing the rewarding relationship in 2021 and beyond. During the four-year partnership MHR and SAVE22 have been able to directly help 40 veterans and their family members. Bayley Currey, driver of the No. 74 car, has been an incredible representative of SAVE22, MHR and Xfinity. Bayley’s commitment to the SAVE22 mission has been invaluable. SAVE22 is excited and honored to continue the partnership with MHR at Darlington Raceway for The Steakhouse Elite 200 on May 8, 2021. We can’t wait to see Bayley Currey and the No. 74 car back on the track. SAVE22 would like to thank our racing partner, Mike Harmon and the entire Mike Harmon Racing Team, for their continued support of our mission to fight veteran suicide as well their endless support of the veteran community.
Bayley Currey is extremely honored to carry both organizations on his Mike Harmon Racing Chevy, “I know the great work that Providing Hope VA and SAVE22 do on a daily basis, and it’s an incredible honor to carry both organizations on the No. 74 Chevrolet. To me, this is more than a sponsorship- it’s a partnership and commitment to making lives better for our veterans, and that means the world to me. All of us at Mike Harmon Racing are looking forward to Darlington, and having a great run for our new partners.”
