Skip Barber Racing School sponsoring James Davison in four road cours races

BYRD is the name, and racing is the game. With seventy-plus races on the calendar in over twelve different series, the 2021 season is shaping up to be very interesting. We are excited to announce Skip Barber as not only our newest partner, but as the Primary Sponsor for the next NASCAR Road Course race at the iconic Circuit of Americas in Austin, TX with James Davison behind the wheel of the #15 Cup Car.

Skip Barber will also run as the primary sponsor for the following races in the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series:

Sonoma Raceway | June 26th

Road America | July 4th

Watkins Glen | August 8th

But it does not stop there… With a goal of expanding Nathan Byrd’s career to the next level, we are confident that our newest partner can do just that. “We have a growing list of drivers that have come through our ranks to go on to very successful careers in NASCAR. Our specialty is road racing, and the opportunity to partner with BYRD Racing on the marque road races this season was a perfect fit. As part of Byrd’s role as the Rick Ware Racing Development driver, Nathan Byrd will be racing in several rounds of the Skip Barber Formula Car Series while also participating in all of the 2-Day Advanced Racing School programs offered by Skip Barber.

Nathan has been confirmed to run the following rounds of the Skip Barber Formula Series:

Sonoma Raceway |March 5-7

Circuit of the Americas | April 30th – May 2nd

New Jersey Motorsports Park | May 25-27

VIRginia International Raceway | June 11-13

So far, Byrd has run both Sonoma and COTA with incredible results. He finished off the weekend in Sonoma with a podium, and managed to take home a 4th place finish in a rain race COTA. “Skip Barber sports an impressive platform for motorsports development and racing opportunities. The racing venues are iconic and have given me great racing experiences at the two legendary tracks of Sonoma Raceway and Circuit of the Americas. The fact that Skip Barber allows and even encourages racing in variable conditions is a major plus because it supports and develops my adaptability as a racecar driver.” Byrd also adds that “their instruction is top-tier in the racing schools and even their engineers work tirelessly to provide us with the most consistent and well-performing race cars that I have had the privilege of being in. I’m definitely looking forward to more race weekends with them because of the invaluable learning experiences I’ll obtain along the way.
