Andy Lally Taking Over for Kyle Tilley in Cup; Making First Cup Start in 10 Years

Early Saturday morning, it was announced James Davison would replace Kyle Tilley for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course due to a sore shoulder. Now, Tilley has been ruled out of Sunday’s Cup Series race, and will be replaced by veteran road course racer, Andy Lally.

Lally will pilot the No. 78 Ford for Live Fast Motorsports. It will mark his first Cup start since finishing 29th at Texas Motor Speedway for TRG Motorsports in 2011.

Over the last decade, Lally has made 14 Xfinity Series starts (will make his 15th on Saturday), with seven top-10 finishes. Earlier this season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, he rounded out the top five, driving for Our Motorsports.
