William Byron to pilot special RAPTOR Paint Scheme at Kansas & Phoenix

William Byron will drive a unique scheme for Sunday’s playoff event at Kansas Speedway and the NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway.

No. 24 primary sponsor Axalta recently acquired U-POL and its RAPTOR® brand in September that will serve a backdrop for the special look. Byron’s Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE will feature the RAPTOR branding and have a textured charcoal design with bright green details.

U-POL is a leading supplier pf paint, protective coatings and accessories for automobiles. The brand is known for its quality bed liners for trucks that are durable and for its durable paint coatings that can be customized with color tints.

“We are thrilled to be able to use our presence in NASCAR and our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports to highlight U-POL and the RAPTOR brand,” said Troy Weaver, the senior vice president of Global Refinish. “RAPTOR is the industry standard when it comes to bedliners and protective coatings and we are proud to now offer it as part of the Axalta product portfolio and showcase it to race fans. The new paint scheme will look great on track and we hope to see it in victory lane.”

Axalta’s partnership with Hendrick Motorsports took off with a landmark deal with Jeff Gordon in 1992. Since then, Axalta has been working with the organization for the last 29 years and provides paint for all four teams in Rick Hendrick’s stable.

Sunday’s race at Kansas will start at 3 p.m. ET on NBCSN and the Cup Series finale at Phoenix will be Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC. Check out Byron’s sleek ride from all angles below.
