AJ Allmendinger Running ‘Good Portion’ of Cup Schedule in 2022 with Kaulig Racing

During Championship 4 Media Day on Thursday, AJ Allmendinger said he has discussed with Kaulig Racing about running “12 to 15” Cup Series races in the 2022 season.

Kaulig, which acquired two Cup charters in late June, will run two full-time cars, one of which Justin Haley will be the primary driver of.

“I love what I’m doing and I’m probably going to run a good portion of the Cup races, at least 12 to 15 races is something we’ve talked about,” Allmendinger said. “I’ll get the best of both worlds.”

Allmendinger is slated to return to the No. 16 Chevrolet for the full 2022 Xfinity Series season.
