Jeffrey Earnhardt Not Returning to JD Motorsports in 2022

In a Facebook post on Tuesday morning (Nov. 9), Jeffrey Earnhardt announced he won’t return to JD Motorsports for the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

This comes after Earnhardt finished 26th in the championship standings, failing to qualify for three races.

“As we turn to the 2022 season I’ve decided I’m going to seek out race winning opportunities as sponsorship permits,” Earnhardt said in the post. “My goal has always been to win races and if that means less races in winning equipment that’s what we’ll do as we build our sponsor base.”

Earnhardt spent the past two seasons driving for JDM. He ran a limited schedule in 2019, running a handful of races with Joe Gibbs Racing, including a third-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
