What’s old is new again, as Gray Gaulding will run the full 2023 Xfinity Series schedule with SS GreenLight Racing, team owner Bobby Dotter confirmed to Jayski.com.
On Wednesday evening, Gaulding tweeted out “I’m back” with #FullSeason. It will be the first time since 2019 that Gaulding has run the duration of a NASCAR schedule, which also came with SS GreenLight.
In 2019, Gaulding picked up a runner-up finish at Talladega Superspeedway, and a total of four top-10 finishes. Four of his six career top 10s have come at either Daytona or Talladega, and he managed to earn a sixth-place finish at Bristol in his career season four years ago.
Dotter stated that Gaulding will pilot the No. 08 car, which will run a mix of Chevrolet and Ford chassis. The No. 08 car finished 31st in the owner standings last season, failing to crack the top 30 by one point.
Gaulding rounds out SS GreenLight Racing’s driver lineup, as Blaine Perkins was announced as the driver of the No. 07 Chevrolet earlier this month. David Starr was the primary driver of the No. 08 car in 2022, competing in 19 races. He had four DNQs throughout the year.
