Andre Castro, who competed in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series in 2019 and 2020, will attempt to qualify for the inaugural Xfinity Series race at the Chicago Street Course next month for Jesse Iwuji Motorsports.
Castro will pilot the No. 34 Chevrolet, which has only made one start this season in the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway with team owner Jesse Iwuji. Iwuji failed to qualify at Talladega Superspeedway in April.
Should Castro make the race, it will be his first start in the Xfinity Series.
Everyone please welcome @acastroracing to our driver lineup for the year for Jesse Iwuji Motorsports! With Andre being an alumni of the wonderful University of Chicago College, this made it a perfect fit for his first start to be at the Chicago Street Course! #NASCAR pic.twitter.com/8MQ6hNSJuK
