23XI Racing remaining with Toyota

With Denny Hamlin signing a multi-year contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing, 23XI Racing will remain under the Toyota banner, he announced on his Actions Detrimental podcast.

“That was a big part of this process, for sure,” Hamlin said of 23XI Racing. “What this means is that 23XI will continue its relationship with Toyota into the future. Nothing really changes. We’re going to continue on the path that we’ve been on. It was my goal to make that a championship organization within five years. We’re going to continue on that trajectory. I think that we’re in a good spot; our relationship with Joe Gibbs Racing is in a good spot. This solidifies all those deals as done.”

Multiple reports indicated that 23XI spoke to Ford about potentially switching manufacturers, but Toyota was able to extend the agreement.

After the Cup Series playoff opener at Darlington Raceway, 23XI Racing drivers Tyler Reddick sits third on the playoff grid, 30 points ahead of teammate Bubba Wallace, who is 13th, one point below Christopher Bell for the coveted 12th position.
