Busch Series Driver Killed In Crash. A racecar driver has been killed in a local motorcycle crash. Late Thursday night, Busch racecar driver Andy Kirby was killed in the crash on Union Road in White House, Robertson County [Tenn]. The 41-year-old has raced everything from motor cross bikes to late model stock cars and trucks. In addition to his racing career, he was heavily involved in the design of his racecars. Kirby was the NASCAR Winston Racing Series points champion in 1997. He leaves behind a wife and three sons.(Channel 5 site) AND News 2 has learned that a local race car driver was killed in an overnight motorcycle accident. It happened about 11:30 p.m. Thursday night in Robertson County [Tennessee]. Authorities told News 2 that Andy Kirby, Jr. of White House was driving at a high-rate of speed when he lost control on a curve in the road. He slid about 200 feet and hit a tree. FUND: Kirby fund: Fairgrounds Speedway is helping generate proceeds for a fund for the children of Andy Kirby, a three-time track champ who died last week in a motorcycle crash. Track president Dennis Grau said drivers will take up a collection for the fund during Saturday’s races, and the track also will donate a portion of its proceeds. Meanwhile, contributions can be made to the Andy Kirby Children’s Fund at Cumberland Bank in White House, 37188, or by calling 615-672-2265. David Price is overseeing the fund. Grau is also organizing a memorabilia sale to benefit Kirby. He said legendary A.J. Foyt, who read the story about Kirby during last week’s visit for the IRL race, has offered to donate some items. The time and place of the sale will be announced when details are completed. Kirby left behind a wife, Dori, and sons Seth, 17, Jonathan, 13, and Ethan 10. The family has little insurance.
