Kyle Larson not allowed to qualify at Talladega UPDATE

UPDATE: Kyle Larson’s car chief has been ejected and he will have to do a pass through penalty at the start of today’s race (at Talladega he will not lose a lap just for the penalty, but will obviously lose the draft).   There will be no additional penalties assessed by NASCAR.

ORIGINAL POST 4-21-2024: No. 5 Kyle Larson was not allowed to make a qualifying lap Saturday at Talladega Superspeedway.

NASCAR says that the team made an unapproved adjustment to the roof rails as they were pushing the car out to the grid.

Any additional penalties could be announced this week.
