Speedway Children’s Charities Laps for Charity races $35,000 for north Texas children in need

The June 8 Speedway Children’s Charities – Texas Chapter’s Laps for Charity fundraising event at Texas Motor Speedway raised a record $35,000 that will benefit North Texas-area children in need through the charitable organization’s annual grant program.

The 455 cars that participated was the largest ever car count and the $35,000 was the largest amount ever raised for a Speedway Children’s Charities Laps for Charity event at Texas Motor Speedway since opening in 1997. Last year’s spring event raised $23,205, a Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter best since 2017.

For a $60 tax-deductible donation, participants experienced the opportunity and thrill of driving their vehicles around Texas Motor Speedway’s one-and-a-half-mile high-banked quad-oval.

A total of 16 local car clubs used the event as a meeting venue while scores of other local folks utilized the event as a unique Saturday night entertainment opportunity for a great cause. Additional fundraising efforts during the event included the purchase of photos taken in SpeedyCash.com Victory Lane by Extreme Photography Studios of Fort Worth.

“It is so heartwarming to see how much the community rallies around this event,” said Speedway Children’s Charities-Texas Chapter Executive Director Marissa Chaney. “Families from all over Texas, and even Oklahoma, joined us to drive the track and raise critical funds to support children in need”
