CRC Industries, Philabundance partner on food drive for Pocono race weekend

CRC Industries, Inc. and Philabundance are partnering on a food drive Friday, July 12, at Pocono Raceway that will benefit local communities as well as those race fans making a donation.

Fans planning to attend the CRC Brakleen 175 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race that evening at 5:30 p.m. ET can make a tangible difference in the mission to drive hunger from local communities by donating one or more canned goods (within use-by date) to the non-profit food bank. Philabundance will have drop-off locations at Gate 8 and Gate 11 upon entering Pocono Raceway.

For their generosity to stop hunger, fans will receive a 20 percent discount on a general admission grandstand ticket for the CRC Brakleen 175 and purchase for just $20. Existing ticketholders also can donate and each will receive $5 off a Paddock Pass + upgrade, which would be reduced to $70 for a full weekend and $45 for Sunday only.

“CRC is proud to support Philabundance in collaboration with Pocono Raceway,” said Julie Williams, AVP Marketing, CRC Industries Americas. “Together, we can take a stand against hunger in our communities.”

Philabundance is a Philadelphia-based, non-profit food bank that feeds more than 135,000 hungry individuals every week across its nine-county service area in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. For those interested in a one-time, weekly or monthly monetary donation, please click HERE. For every $10 donated, Philabundance can provide enough food to produce 20 meals to those communities facing hunger every day.

The most-needed items are peanut butter and jelly; cooking oil; canned tuna or meat; canned fruits and vegetables; canned stew and soups; oatmeal and breakfast cereal; whole grain pasta; 100% juice; rice; and boxed, non-refrigerated milk. Ideally, the items are low in sugar and sodium, and free of high-fructose corn syrup. Items should be recently purchased and in good condition.

“Our mission is to drive hunger from our communities today and to end hunger for good,” the Philabundance Team said. “Partnerships are vital to our work, enabling us to distribute food efficiently and effectively to those in need throughout the region.”

The CRC Brakleen 175 is part of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend at Pocono Raceway. The weekend continues with the Xfinity Series Explore the Pocono Mountains 225 on Saturday, July 13, and The Great American Getaway 400 presented by VISITPA Cup Series race on Sunday, July 14.
