Kyle Weatherman cleared to race at Daytona after Michigan wreck

Kyle Weatherman announced on social media that he’s been cleared to race in Friday’s Wawa 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

Weatherman was laps down when he blew a right-front tire at Michigan International Speedway and pancaked the outside wall.

“I just got the call from NASCAR; I am officially cleared to race this weekend,” Weatherman said in a video posted on social media. “Just so thankful that all the safety features and the car kept me safe. Thank you everyone at DGM [Racing] for building safe racecars, NASCAR for everyone there and ready to help me. … It was a very hard hit. Very thankful that I just have bone bruising. Nothing broke, nothing fractured, nothing dislocated. Nothing.”
