NASCAR fans attending Sunday’s 75th annual Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway have an extra incentive to enter the gates early. The first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a commemorative Rally Towel as part of NASCAR’s “Thank You, Fans” campaign at the Track Too Tough to Tame.
In addition, fans will be encouraged to stand and wave their rally towels on Lap 75 to commemorate this historic running of the 75th Annual Cook Out Southern 500, one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events and the grand finale for the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series regular season.
“Our fans are the ones who make Darlington Raceway so incredibly special, and we look forward to seeing them wave their towels Sunday night as we celebrate history,” said Darlington Raceway President Josh Harris. “This is going to be a Cook Out Southern 500 we won’t soon forget, so we encourage everyone to arrive early to make the most of the day.”
Gates open at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, and fans will have plenty to enjoy, including Q&As on the pre-race stage with the likes of Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin and Noah Gragson. Carson Hocevar, Chase Briscoe, Erik Jones and Joey Logano will also be making appearances at the NASCAR Experience in the Fan Zone.
Darlington’s Labor Day Race Weekend begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help A Hero 200. Then at 6 p.m., Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series stars will battle to secure their spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs with the Cook Out Southern 500.
Tickets are going fast, and NASCAR fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets while supplies last at 866-459-7223 or online at darlingtonraceway.com.
