Watkins Glen International will once again help set up the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs field with a summer race weekend to help close out the regular season, the track announced today as NASCAR released the 2025 schedule for all three national series.
The Go Bowling at The Glen race weekend, Aug. 8-10, will provide drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series with one of their final opportunities to win a race to earn a spot in the 2025 NASCAR Playoffs as it’s the third-to-last race of the regular season for both series.
Fans will have even more action to take in next year at the iconic road course as the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series joins the lineup alongside the Cup Series and Xfinity Series. The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series last raced on the historic road course in 2021 in a race won by Austin Hill. Previously, the Truck Series took on the twists and turns of The Glen from 1996-2000.
“Watkins Glen International is a challenging and prestigious road course that provides the perfect backdrop for setting up championship opportunities,” said Dawn Burlew, President of Watkins Glen International. “In only a couple weeks, fans will get to see Playoff action here for the first time, while next year they’ll get to cheer on their favorite drivers as they once again battle it out for a berth in the Playoffs. We’re so proud WGI is playing such an instrumental role in NASCAR’s championship over these two seasons.”
Below are the dates the 2025 NASCAR races at Watkins Glen International:
• Friday, Aug. 8 – NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Race
• Saturday, Aug. 9 – NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission Foods 200
• Sunday, Aug. 10 – NASCAR Cup Series Go Bowling at The Glen
There is plenty of action left at Watkins Glen International in 2024. The NASCAR race weekend at Watkins Glen International kicks off the fall season in New York on Friday, Sept. 13 with the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 100 at The Glen, followed by the NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission 200 at The Glen on Saturday, Sept. 14, the second-to-last race of the Xfinity Series regular season.
Then, on Sunday, Sept. 15, Watkins Glen International makes its NASCAR Cup Series Playoff debut in the Go Bowling at The Glen, with drivers battling it out on the 2.45-mile road course for the first time in the post-season.
