Joey Gase Motorsports acquires owner points from JD Motorsports

Earlier this week, Joey Gase Motorsports acquired the owner points from the No. 6 JD Motorsports team, which ran the opening 18 races of the 2024 Xfinity Series season.

By getting the No. 6 team’s points, the No. 53 team moved from 46th to 39th in the owners standings, with a total of 131 points. The move puts the No. 53 car ahead of the No. 74 Mike Harmon Racing entry, which acquired points last week from Richard Childress Racing’s No. 33 team to jump up the owners standings.

With JGM’s acquisition, Mike Harmon elected to withdraw the No. 74 Chevrolet from this weekend’s United Rentals 250 at Talladega Superspeedway. All 38 cars now entered will compete on Saturday afternoon.

Carson Ware will drive the No. 53 car at Talladega. Prior to this move, the No. 53 car had qualified for five races this season.
