VIVID EV sponsoring Blaine Perkins in two races, Frontstretch displayed on No. 29 car

VIVID EV has seen the light when it comes to the value of NASCAR sponsorship. The electric golf cart company announced Tuesday, Oct. 15, it’ll debut in the sport’s NASCAR Xfinity Series this upcoming weekend, assuming primary sponsorship of Blaine Perkins and the No. 29 RSS Racing Ford Mustang at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

VIVID’s longtime fandom first turned into financial support through a sponsorship deal with racing journalism’s Frontstretch. The popular website, providing weekly coverage of NASCAR’s top three series, hosted the company at Daytona International Speedway in August. From there, friendships formed inside the stock car garage that led to VIVID’s decision to support a rising, family-owned race team in RSS.

VIVID’s two-race deal with Perkins is for Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway Oct. 26, located just three hours from company headquarters in Fort Myers, Fla. As a thank-you to Frontstretch after its sponsorship of the publication this yearVIVID will display its red-and-black logo on the front, side and rear bumper of the car on both race weekends.

The Las Vegas paint scheme is extra special for Perkins, a 24-year-old California native who grew up watching fellow Bakersfield resident and 60-race Cup Series winner Kevin Harvick. The car’s design replicates Harvick’s popular black-and-gray GM Goodwrench Chevrolet he ran during the 2004 season with Richard Childress Racing.

“This is a big move for VIVID EV, and we’re beyond excited to unveil our new paint scheme on Blaine Perkins’ No. 29 Ford Mustang for the upcoming race in Las Vegas, with Frontstretch as part of it,” VIVID Head of Business Marketing and Development, Joe Wells said. “We’re proud of the sponsorship and the opportunities it brings, both for us and the teams we partner with.

“Supporting Blaine’s team, along with our ventures in IMSA through Forte Racing, showcases our commitment to motorsports. As the official EV mobility partner of race teams, we believe our lithium-powered golf carts deliver tremendous value, driving innovation and performance on and off the track.”

Perkins is completing his first full season behind the wheel of RSS Racing’s No. 29, currently 27th in Xfinity points with 14 lead-lap finishes. He has a best finish of 13th at Phoenix Raceway in March and recently set his season high with three top-20 finishes in a six-race span, from Daytona International Speedway in August to Talladega Superspeedway earlier this month.
