Drivers’ music selections take center stage for Cup Series introductions at Bass Pro Shops Night Race

While the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway is a cutoff race in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, it also boasts one of the most unique pre-race traditions in sports.

When the 16 playoff contenders and the rest of the Cup Series field are introduced Saturday night, each driver will walk out to a song of their choosing. The selections range from hip hop and country to classic rock, EDM and even television series theme music, reflecting the mix of personalities inside the garage.

Drivers will be welcomed onto the smoke-filled stage, greeted by fans in the grandstands and then ride around “The Last Great Colosseum” in the bed of a Chevy truck before strapping in for 500 laps under the lights.
