Richard Brian Hodges, 70, of Troutman, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025. Born on July 18, 1955, in Durham, NC, Richard lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a love for the outdoors.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Peggy Hodges.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Londa Hodges; his children Reid (Jackie) Hodges, Jason (Lea) Peschock, Steven (Elizabeth) Peschock, and Elizabeth (Daniel) Cambria, his cherished grandchildren Madison, Jamison, Emma Wylly, Maison, and Peter, all of whom brought immense joy to his life, and his brothers Robert (Tammy) Hodges and Gene (Kathy) Hodges.
Richard began his career in the ready-mix concrete industry, where he built a reputation for reliability and dedication. In 2002, he followed his passion for motorsports and joined the world of NASCAR racing, transporting race cars, equipment, and team supplies to tracks across the country. He took great pride in his role and loved being part of the racing community.
Outside of work, Richard enjoyed spending time on the golf course and in the woods hunting; two hobbies that brought him peace and camaraderie. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his family.
Richard will be remembered for his steady presence, warm heart, and the unwavering loyalty he showed to those he loved. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville. The Celebration of Life will follow at 4:00 PM. Chaplain Nick Terry officiating. From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the family will be offering light refreshments and snacks in the Heritage House.
