— The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) today announced that Joey Gase Motorsports with Scott Osteen will take to the track on its behalf at Darlington Raceway on Saturday, March 21, bringing critical fire safety messages to one of NASCAR’s most passionate fan bases.
Gase will race in car #55 during the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Sports Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200. Saturday’s race begins at 5:30 pm ET, and will be broadcast on The CW Network, with streaming available via the CW app, FuboTV, YouTubeTV, and DIRECTV. Radio coverage will be available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The Darlington race weekend also coincides with a major milestone for NFPA: the 75th birthday of Sparky the Fire Dog®, the organization’s beloved fire safety mascot who has helped educate generations of people about fire prevention and safety. NFPA is marking the occasion with activities throughout the year to highlight Sparky’s enduring role in promoting fire safety for children and families.

“Teaming up with Joey Gase and NASCAR gives us a powerful platform to connect with fans and reinforce the importance of fire safety,” said Lorraine Carli, vice president of Outreach and Advocacy at NFPA. “With Darlington Raceway recently celebrating its 75th anniversary and Sparky marking 75 years of helping families stay safe, this race is a great opportunity to bring together two long-standing institutions in support of a life-saving mission.”

“Anytime we can use racing to help share important messages like fire safety, it’s a win,” said Gase. “I’m proud to continue our work with NFPA to help bring these life-saving messages to NASCAR fans across the country and to help celebrate Sparky’s birthday.”

Gase will also represent NFPA the following week at Martinsville Speedway as part of the NFPA 250 on March 28, further extending NFPA’s safety reach and impact.
