During Coca-Cola 600 weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Chase Elliott said he would support Kyle Busch winning NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver award this season following Busch’s death earlier this week.
When asked if he would support Busch receiving the award, Elliott said, “I would be in extreme favor of Kyle winning the title.”
Elliott noted that Busch “poured a lot of his life into the sport” and said that while Busch was often booed during his career, he also had “a lot of really passionate fans.”
“I would certainly be in favor of him winning and whatever it took,” Elliott added. “I think it would be really deserving for him to get that.”
