Revere American Rum, owned by two-time NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes, today announced the release of Batch #1, its inaugural offering and the brand’s first step toward reclaiming rum’s place in American history. The lineup includes an Aged Rum and a White Rum, both 100% American made and bottled by Revolution Rum, LLC in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Rum was once the drink that built the American colonies. Two hundred fifty years ago, American distilleries were producing 5 million gallons of it annually, and in the port towns of early America, no drink was more cherished — it filled the tavern mugs of Boston merchants and fueled the booming economy of New England distilleries. That dominance drew the attention of the British Crown. The Molasses Act of 1733 taxed rum itself and both sugar and molasses which are the key ingredients of rum. Colonists responded with defiance, smuggling molasses from French and Dutch islands. The Sugar Act of 1764 tightened enforcement further, feeding the unrest that led to boycotts, the Boston Tea Party, Paul Revere’s midnight ride, and the first shots of the Revolutionary War at Concord.
Victory came at a cost. When the war ended, American ships lost access to the Caribbean sugar islands, severing the colonies’ molasses supply. Distilleries were left with a choice: close their doors or pivot to grain. Whiskey rose in rum’s place, and the drink that helped fuel the Revolution faded from the country it helped create. Revere American Rum was founded to bring it back — bottling proudly and unapologetically American rum, made without shortcuts.

● Aged Rum Batch #1 (40% ALC/VOL, 80 Proof, $44.99 / 750mL) – Aged a full six years, with nothing added to speed up the process. No caramel color, no sweetening, and no blending to appear older than it is — six years is what’s in the bottle. Toasted notes of oak, coconut, and vanilla carry through alongside the rum’s natural sweetness, making it equally suited to sipping neat or building into a cocktail.
● White Rum Batch #1 (40% ALC/VOL, 80 Proof, $29.99 / 750mL) – A bright, floral white rum with a sweet, fruity mouthfeel. Smooth enough to drink straight and versatile enough to anchor any cocktail.
