Martinsville Speedway will celebrate its landmark 80th anniversary season in 2027 with two marquee NASCAR Cup Series race weekends, highlighted by the return of the sport’s biggest stars and championship-defining battles at the historic half-mile.
Throughout the 2027 season, every race at the iconic Virginia short track will be part of Martinsville Speedway’s year-long 80th anniversary celebration, honoring eight decades of unforgettable moments, legendary competitors and generations of passionate race fans.
“For 80 years, Martinsville Speedway has been the backdrop for some of the most memorable moments in NASCAR history, and we’ll honor that incredible legacy throughout the 2027 season,” said Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. “Every event on our schedule will be part of our 80th anniversary celebration, making it a truly special year for our fans, competitors and everyone who has been a part of Martinsville Speedway’s story. The spring NASCAR weekend begins Friday, April 16, with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour taking center stage before the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series competes on Saturday, April 17. The weekend culminates Sunday, April 18, as the Cup Series returns to the famed Paperclip for one of the season’s most anticipated short-track showdowns.
The spotlight returns to Martinsville Speedway Nov. 5-7 for one of the most important weekends on the NASCAR calendar. Once again serving as the penultimate race weekend in The Chase for all three national NASCAR series, the fall event promises championship drama at every turn.
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series opens the weekend on Friday, Nov. 5, followed by the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series on Saturday, Nov. 6. On Sunday, Nov. 7, the Cup Series will battle in the next-to-last race of the season as championship contenders seek to set themselves apart from the field.
Fans won’t have to wait until 2027 to experience the excitement at Martinsville Speedway. The 2026 NASCAR championship picture will come into focus at the historic short track this Oct. 30-Nov. 1. The Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will all compete in races in The Chase that could elevate the hopes of championship contenders in the next-to-last weekend of the 2026 season.
