Goodyear Racing Notes: New Hampshire Motor Speedway

NASCAR Cup Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setups at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend as at Richmond Raceway last weekend.

This short-track setup debuted at Martinsville Speedway last fall and is designed to give increased grip and lap time fall-off over the course of a run.

One change this weekend comes with the introduction of a new practice format, consolidating practice into a single 50-minute session. To account for this increased track time, teams will now have access to an additional set of Goodyear Racing Eagle tires for use in practice.

“Despite being just over one-mile long, New Hampshire fits into the short track category, meaning the same Goodyear Racing Eagles used last weekend at Richmond are again the right choice this weekend,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “The new practice format starting in New Hampshire means we will now bring more tires to the track to account for the increased allocation of two sets for practice most weekends.”

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races Saturday afternoon, also using the same tires as they ran at Richmond. Teams in both series will have Goodyear Racing Eagle wet weather tires available should weather conditions require them.

Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend in Minnesota for the NHRA Brainerd Nationals, Belgium for the European Le Mans Series 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and the UK for the British Touring Car Championship races at Donington Park.
