FedEx Freight expected to take over as Truck Series title sponsor

NASCAR is finalizing a deal with FedEx Freight to become the entitlement sponsor of the Truck Series, NASCAR’s third-tier national series, according to sources briefed on the situation and granted anonymity to speak about the ongoing negotiations.

The multi-year agreement is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks. FedEx Freight is set to replace Craftsman, which has served as the Truck Series’ entitlement sponsor since 2023 and had also been in that role previously from 1995-2008.

AND: NASCAR declined to comment on its efforts to replace Craftsman. In a comment to SBJ, FedEx Freight said: “FedEx Freight does not have any current sports marketing sponsorship agreements.”

It is unknown how many brands NASCAR has canvassed during its search and if any others are still in discussions. For the second year in a row, the racing property is in the market looking for a new entitlement sponsor for one of its series, after it signed O’Reilly Auto Parts to replace Xfinity for its second-tier circuit last year. How much NASCAR is seeking for the asset is also not known, but the series has previously sought around $5M annually for the entitlement.
