NASCAR Cup Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagles at World Wide Technology Raceway (WWTR) this weekend that they used in last year’s race at the St. Louis-area track.
This is the first time Cup Series teams will use this left- and right-side tire combination this season, however the right-side Goodyear Racing Eagle was raced at Iowa Speedway last month.
“WWTR is a very unique track, which adds additional heat and stress on the tires,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “The Goodyear Racing Eagles we have chosen for the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend were raced here last season, so combined with data from Iowa in August, teams should have plenty of information to help with their set-ups.”
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagles they used at Phoenix Raceway in March. The right-side was used at WWTR last year. As is customary on tracks one mile and longer, teams will run inner liners.
Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend at the Goodyear 4 Hours of Silverstone in the European Le Mans Series.
