LEGACY MOTOR CLUB has named Michael O’Conor as Chief Revenue Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience in sports partnership and business development to the organization.
In his new role, O’Conor oversees LEGACY MOTOR CLUB’s sales and partnerships teams, helping drive revenue growth and expand the organization’s commercial operations.
“Michael has spent his career building meaningful partnerships and driving revenue and growth at the highest levels of sports,” said Jimmie Johnson, co-owner of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion. “His experience across Olympic and Paralympic sport and the broader sponsorship landscape gives him a unique perspective, and we’re excited for the impact he’ll have as we continue building LEGACY.”
O’Conor joins LEGACY MOTOR CLUB after serving as Chief Growth Officer of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum, where he led strategic initiatives around revenue, partnership, membership, and donor strategy, expanding the museum’s national reach through strategic fundraising, corporate sponsorships, and athlete engagement. Prior to that role, he was Principal of The O’Conor Agency, supporting commercial marketing initiatives and cultivating partnerships for clients including USA Swimming, The National Thoroughbred League, and USRowing. O’Conor has also held key positions at U.S. Ski & Snowboard as Chief Revenue Officer, and at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee as Senior Vice President of Business Development.
A graduate of Providence College, O’Conor began his career in baseball operations and ticketing with the Boston Red Sox and Salt Lake Buzz Baseball Club, a Minnesota Twins affiliate. He went on to serve as an account manager with the United States Olympic Committee through the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics and Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympics, before joining the Sundance Institute to handle marketing, licensing, and sponsorship for the Sundance Film Festival. In 2004, he rejoined the USOC and spent the next 14 years advancing through partnership and business development roles.
“I am excited to join LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and be part of what Jimmie and the team are building,” said Michael O’Conor. “There is a tremendous opportunity to continue growing the organization, strengthening our partnerships and creating new value for our partners. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience across sports and business to help drive that growth and contribute to the CLUB’s success both on and off the track.”
“Adding Michael to this team is a significant step forward for LEGACY,” said Cal Wells III, CEO of LEGACY MOTOR CLUB. “He has spent his career cultivating partnerships and driving revenue at the highest levels of sport, and he brings a perspective and a network that will open doors for this organization. We’re glad to have him.”
