The National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) is teaming up with NASCAR driver Joey Gase for two races and a community event to promote Fire Prevention Week™, October 4-10.
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging is a Superpower™,” focuses on steps people can take to charge devices powered by lithium-ion batteries safely.
“Race weekends bring together hundreds of thousands of NASCAR fans and families who use rechargeable batteries every day,” said Lorraine Carli, vice president of Outreach and Advocacy at NFPA. “These races give us a chance to share a simple reminder: The way you charge your devices can help prevent a fire.”
- Gase will drive the No. 55 car, featuring a Fire Prevention Week paint scheme, in the Focused Health 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Saturday, October 3, at 4:30 p.m. PT.
- He will return to the track for the Blue Cross NC 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 10., at 4 p.m. ET.
