NASCAR Cup Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup for a third consecutive race this Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
These Goodyear Racing Eagles, which ran in the recent races at Kansas Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, are also the same tires that ran in the Coca-Cola 600 in May.
Both the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will also run the same tire setups as at Charlotte in May. Both series have used this left-side 15-inch tire on several occasions since then. As is customary at tracks one-mile and longer, they will run inner liners at Charlotte.
“After two weeks of running these tires at similar intermediate tracks, Cup Series teams come to Charlotte on a very familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle package,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “We now enter the final stretch of the season, with all three national series racing every weekend. With everything on the line in the run up to the Championship Weekend, our job is to give teams tire setups that deliver the performance and reliability they need while contributing to exciting racing.”
Goodyear Racing Eagles are also in action this weekend in the European Le Mans Series and British Touring Car Championship season finales at Portimao and Brands Hatch.
