NASCAR adjusts Charlotte schedule, O’Reilly race moved to Sunday evening

All on-track activities for Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway have been canceled due to inclement weather, NASCAR officials announced Saturday morning.

The Blue Cross NC 300, the fifth of nine Chase presented by Mobil 1 races in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, will now take place Sunday at 8 p.m. ET (The CW, ESPN Unlimited, PRN Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) following the NASCAR Cup Series race. The race was originally slated for a 4 p.m. ET green flag Saturday.

Cup Series practice and qualifying were washed out after a Friday announcement moved practice to 11 a.m. ET and qualifying to 12:05 p.m. ET, two hours earlier than originally scheduled. It is the fourth time in six Chase races that the lineup will be set via the NASCAR Rule Book.
