Nascar Championship Weekend Miami Primary

NASCAR, Homestead-Miami Speedway Team Up with Romero Britto

The bold colors, unmistakable energy and vibrant spirit of South Florida are coming to NASCAR Championship Weekend in a whole new way. Homestead-Miami Speedway and NASCAR today announced a partnership with internationally renowned artist Romero Britto, bringing his iconic pop-art style to the Speedway and infusing one of NASCAR’s biggest weekends with the color, creativity and optimism that have made his work recognizable around the world.

At the center of the collaboration is a one-of-a-kind trophy designed by Britto that will be hoisted in Victory Lane by Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race winner, creating a colorful new piece of NASCAR history. Britto’s signature artwork will also come to life through an exclusive licensed merchandise collection, while a custom mural atop the Speedway’s iconic tower will provide a larger-than-life welcome to fans and competitors and leave a lasting mark on Homestead-Miami Speedway for years to come.

Bold art meets high-speed adrenaline as BRITTO X NASCAR debuts a new licensed product collaboration on-site at NASCAR Championship Weekend in Miami. Spanning apparel, headwear and novelty items, the collection pairs BRITTO’s vibrant colors, playful patterns and unmistakable optimism with the power, passion and color of NASCAR racing. Bringing together art, sport and self-expression, the collaboration gives fans a fresh way to wear, collect, and showcase their love of racing. It’s a colorful celebration of championship energy, perfectly at home in Miami’s dynamic art scene.

Britto will also serve as the Honorary Creative Director for the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race and will join the other race dignitaries in pre-race festivities.

“South Florida is a global destination, bringing together people, cultures and energy unlike anywhere else on the globe, and few artists capture that vibrant spirit quite like Romero Britto,” said Guillermo Santa Cruz, Homestead-Miami Speedway President. “Romero’s work is instantly recognizable, and bringing his signature color, creativity and optimism to America’s Racing Paradise makes this collaboration truly unique. From a larger-than-life art installation that will serve as a landmark in the region to exclusive merchandise and a one-of-a-kind trophy that will forever be part of NASCAR history, his influence will be felt throughout Championship Weekend and create an experience unlike anything we’ve done before.”

Romero Britto is a Brazilian-born and Miami-made artist and founder of the Happy Art Movement. With his distinctive style and usage of bright, vibrant landscapes, Britto embraces the fun in life and continues inspiring those around him with works in over 120 countries. His all-embracing attitude and motto of sharing this life with others guides his artistic and personal ventures as an outspoken humanitarian with contributions to hundreds of charitable organizations.

With a presence ranging well beyond art museums, Britto’s trademark style attracts marquee events around the world, including design contributions to the Super Bowl, Olympics and FIFA World Cup. His works, similarly, extend off the canvas into pieces like sculptures and large-scale installations. Most notably, Britto’s eccentric pyramid stands alone as the largest sculpture in London Hyde Park history. His global image has garnered over three million fans across social media while also creating personalized works for royalty, presidents and more.

“I am so excited to partner with NASCAR for this special collaboration,” said Britto. “I have always loved the incredible energy and excitement of watching the cars race by, the speed, the movement, the passion. NASCAR is such an iconic American sport, and that energy connects beautifully with my art, which is all about color, movement, happiness, and celebrating life. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have created together and to share it with the world!”

Helping others is at the core of Romero Britto’s Happy Art Movement. His work alone creates a loving, accepting and optimistic perspective for everyone. His philanthropic efforts reinforce that message. With contributions to over 250 charities and organizations, Britto has donated over $120 million worldwide. Furthermore, his unwavering support of so many incredible organizations has led to his role as a key board member for several, including Best Buddies International, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and more.
