RFK Racing is expected to lose a long-tenured sponsor in Fifth Third Bank after this season, according to sources familiar with the matter, though the move is unrelated to Brad Keselowski’s forthcoming exit from the NASCAR team.
Since 2012, the Cincinnati-based financial services company has been a sponsor of the team that was known as Roush Fenway Racing at the time the deal began. Fifth Third has been associated with the team’s No. 17 Ford since that time across several drivers such as Matt Kenseth, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and currently Chris Buescher.

The precise terms of Fifth Third’s contract with RFK were unclear, but sources said Fifth Third is not expected to return as a sponsor of RFK next year. Both sides declined to confirm the development when contacted by SBJ, as the NASCAR season doesn’t end for another month.
As part of the acquisition of Comerica Bank this year, Fifth Third has taken over sports marketing assets that Comerica Bank already had. That includes some pricey deals like the naming rights to the Detroit Tigers’ ballpark and a partnership as the official bank of the Detroit Lions.
