Chase Elliott wins his first NASCAR All-Star Race:Ā The sportās reigning Most Popular Driver, Chase Elliott earned his first NASCAR All-Star Race win Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway ā holding off the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in the closing laps.Ā Elliott led 60 of the 140 laps en route to the $1.1 million paycheck. He and his father Bill Elliott join father/son combination of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. to have won the sportās midseason All-Star exhibition. All 16 eligible drivers are entered for the All-Star race.
For the open, 22 teams are listed, but the #66 team will not be competing.

Race formats:
All-Star:
Four stages, lasting 55 laps, 35 laps, 35 laps and 15 laps.
Green flag and yellow flag laps will count in Stages 1-3 with only green flag laps counting in the Final Stage.
Unlimited attempts at a green, white, checkered finish.
NASCAR Open:
Three segments (35 laps / 35 Laps / 15 laps).
Winner of each segment will earn a spot in the All-Star Race as well as the winner of the Fan Vote.
Choose cone rule will be used.

To be eligible to compete in the All-Star Race, full-time drivers must have: won a 2019 or 2020 Cup Series race; won a previous All-Star Race; or be a former Cup Series champion. Drivers currently eligible include: Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Cole Custer, Chase Elliot, Justin Haley, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman and Martin Truex Jr.
The final four spots in the All-Star Race field will be reserved for the two stage winners and race winner from the All-Star Open as well as the winner of the All-Star Fan Vote.
