The National Motorsports Press Association announced that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is the recipient of this years NMPA NASCAR Most Popular Driver Award. It is the 11th consecutive year Earnhardt Jr. has been selected through a vote of the fans, breaking a tie with Bill Elliott

Stewart-Haas Racing competition director Greg Zipadelli said that Mark Martins 2014 role with the team 'is not completely identified yet' but predicts the veteran will be a valuable addition after ostensibly running his last Sprint Cup for the foreseeable future race
