Tyler Ankrum grabs Playoff spot with maiden Truck Series win: In a week that started with Justin Haley’s remarkable upset win at Daytona on Sunday, 18-year-old Tyler Ankrum added another on Thursday night at Kentucky Speedway—and simultaneously threw a wrench into the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Playoff standings.(More)(7-11-2019)

#17-Tyler Ankrum won the Buckle Up Your Truck 225 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway on Thursday night after leader #24-Brett Moffitt ran out of fuel with less than two laps remaining. Ankrum led the most laps of the race (40) en route to his first career win. It was also the first Truck Series win for his DGR-Crosley team.
#52-Stewart Friesen started the race from the rear after being forced to a back-up truck prior to the first practice. Friesen’s Halmar Racing team had their primary confiscated over an issue with the truck’s firewall. He drove through the field and finished second.
#18-Harrison Burton, #45-Ross Chastain, #15-Dylan Lupton, #22-Austin Wayne Self, #24-Moffitt, #11-Spencer Davis, #44-Jeb Burton, and #13-Johnny Sauter were the rest of the top-10.
Stages 1 was won by #2-Sheldon Creed and stage 2 was won by #88-Matt Crafton.
There were 10 lead changes among 7 drivers and 5 cautions for 33 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 119.416mph.
