Grant Enfinger locks up spot in Championship 4 with victory at Talladega: The home crowd favorite, Grant Enfinger claimed the victory in Friday afternoon’s Love’s RV Stop 225 Playoff race at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway – the Alabama native’s second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at the big track and the most important, as the victory delivers an automatic entry into the season championship finale next month.(Read More)(10-4-2024)
#9-Grant Enfinger won the Love’s RV Stop 225 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. The win was his first of the season, second at Talladega, and the 11th
Truck Series win of his career. The win catapulted him into the final Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway.
While Enfinger led the most laps of the race with 34 out front, a last attempt was made on the final lap to challenge for the win, but things went array when #18-Tyler Ankrum received contact from #43-Daniel Dye, igniting the expected ”big-one” known to superspeedway races. Along with Ankrum, playoff drivers #19-Christian Eckes, #11-Corey Heim, and #98-TY Majeski were involved, along with #52-Stewart Friesen and #91-Ryan Reed.
#17-Taylor Gray finished second, followed by #43-Dye, #71-Rajah Caruth, #33-Lawless Alan, #19-Eckes, #91-Reed, #75-Stefan Parsons, #32-Bret Holmes and #76-Spencer Boyd in the top-10.
Playoff drivers not in the top-10: #11-Heim, 11th, #98-Majeski, 12th, #18-Ankrum, 14th, and #2-Nick Sanchez, 22nd.
#1-William Sawalich earned his first Truck Series pole, but struggled with power issues as stage two got underway. He finished 27th.
#42-Matt Mills won the opening stage.
#23-Enfinger won stage 2.
There were 27 lead changes among 12 drivers and four cautions for 25 yellow flag laps.
The average speed of the race was: 125.148mph.

Race Updates:
Lap 85: Checkered flag for Grant Enfinger. He advances to championship 4. Wreck at the end after Ankrum gets sideways. Gray, Dye, Caruth, Alan current top-5. But the wreck may shake things up.
Lap 84: Last lap as they maintain single-file across the line. Enfinger, Eckes lead the pack. Taylor Gray jumps out to make an outside lane.
Lap 80: 5 to go. Enfinger, Eckes, Alan, Gray, Reed, Ankrum, Friesen, Majeski, Boyd, Dye all in a single file line.
Lap 77: 9 to go at restart. Enfinger leads. Gray. Eckes now 2nd to Enfinger as they run nose to tail.
Lap 71: CAUTION Sanchez spins in front of the field and collects McGee and Maggio. Enfinger, Taylor Gray, Reed, Eckes and Alan now leaders.
Lap 70: 15 to go. Sanchez drops down in front of the field and takes the lead. Eckes, Enfinger follow.
Lap 68: Restart. Honeycutt leads on the inside with Sanchez on the outside.

Lap 62: CAUTION multi-truck wreck with Thompson, Garcia, Ankrum, Tanner Gray, Riggs, Mills, Parsons, Zilisch involved. Garcia got sideways, down into the Riggs truck. White leads Sutton, Maggio,
Lap 60: 25 to go. White leads Sutton, Maggio, Honeycutt and Sanchez. Pitstops still cycling. Caruth getting a pass-through for his speeding penalty from lap 57.
Lap 57: A big pack of trucks pit, including leader Eckes. Caruth a little hot on entry.
Lap 56: Eckes leads Enfinger, Dye, Caruth and Parsons.
Lap 53: Green flag pitstops for Heim, Majeski and Taylor Gray of the playoff drivers. Riggs, Friesen also pit.
Lap 52: Eckes leads with Enfinger linked up.
Lap 47: Caruth leads Dye and Eckes for the restart.

Lap 38: CAUTION Sanchez, leading the outside lane, gets sideways in front of the field, somehow only Purdy and Rhodes get collected. Looks like he got contact from Zilisch, he gets sideways, narrowly misses Enfinger the leader.
Lap 33: Sanchez leads Enfinger, Garcia, Majeski and Alan. Taylor Gray’s pitstop as the field went back to green was for a cut tire.
Lap 27: Back to green as Sanchez leads. Sawalich still on pitroad. Power switch issue, not battery. Crafton repit prior to green with an overheating issue. Playoff driver Taylor Gray pits as the green.
Lap 25: Under yellow, Sawalich has battery issue. Friesen, Crafton, Boyd, Sanchez stay out, while all else pit. Friesen, Crafton, Boyd pit a lap later.
Lap 20: End of stage 1. Mills wins it over Enfinger, Garcia, Zilisch.
Lap 19: Sanchez pits with one to go in the stage under green.
Lap 10: 10 to go in stage 1. Enfinger leads Purdy, Sawalich, Mills, Majeski. Sauter on pitroad under green for a spoiler brace issue.
