RACE RUNDOWN….News & Links

Tyler Reddick rallies for dramatic NASCAR Xfinity victory at Bristol: Tyler Reddick’s No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet had the word “BEAST” in big block letters on its hood Friday night. The car was aptly named. Even though Reddick had to come from the rear of the field twice in his Tame the Beast Camaro—once the result of a stiff penalty and once after a spin—he still needed a bit of luck to win the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. A bit of luck—and large measure of heartache for snake-bitten Justin Allgaier. [More](8-16-2019)

#2-Tyler Reddick won the Food City 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The win is his 4th win of 2019, 1st XFINITY win at Bristol and 7th career win. He was able to overcome not being allowed to qualify after failing inspection multiple times and having to serve a pass through penalty at the start of the race.
#98-Briscoe finished 2nd followed by #23-Nemechek, #51-Clements, #22-Cindric, #08-Gaulding, #61-Hill, #7-Allgaier, #1-Annett and #4-Cassill.
#7-Allgaier led the most laps on the night — 131 — and was leading with 10 laps to go when a tire went down and he had to pit.
Stage 1 was won by #19-Jones. He finished 11th after late contact with the outside wall.
Stage 2 was won by #18-Busch while his engine was blowing up. He went to the garage after the stage ended and finished 27th.
There were 11 lead changes among 7 drivers and 9 cautions for 59 yellow flag laps.
